Movie created with a dSLR camera

Here’s a movie that some dude created using only a Canon 20D digital SLR camera. It’s an amazing piece of work and had to take a lot of time to create. The 20D has an amazing buffer for being able to take continuous shots. It’s capable of 5 frames per second and if you choose a lower quality jpg for saving you can basically shoot non-stop until the compact flash fills up.

This link made the rounds at all the photography forums, so I thought I’d pass it on for everyone to see.

What’s going on?????

All of a sudden, if I visit my site using firefox, none of my posts are showing up. However, if I use IE, everything looks fine.

Can anyone report to me what they’re seeing??

Here’s a screenshot of what my site looks like in Firefox right now.
Where's my posts?

Update: Well, I’m finally at home and using my computer with Ubuntu and using Firefox the site loads fine. Hmmmm, maybe something with Firefox on my laptop. I’m going to head downstairs and try on that computer.

Update 2: Well, it was something with Firefox on my laptop. I went through one by one clearing stuff and it wasn’t until I cleared all the cookies that the site showed up again. Weird.

Oh, that fun DMV

So I had to run my truck through emissions testing because my plates are going to expire at the end of the month. I’ve been trying to make it to the testing place all week, but things just kept getting in the way. So today, I finally decided I would just go before work shortly after they opened. When I get there, I’m the only one. There was no line and no waiting. What a nice surprise. Then the testing went fairly quick. I was in and out in under 5 minutes. Sweeet! Now all that’s left to do if log out to the DMV website and fill out the online renewal system. This is where things get ugly.

After putting in the special code on my renewal sheet the site has the nerve to tell me I can’t renew over the web and that I need to do it in person at the DMV. This sucks! First, it’s the DMV, everyone hates going to the DMV to deal with the drones behind those counter. Secondly, they recently relocated our DMV from the convenience of within our city to the inconvenience of out in the county. Why!!!

An opportunity presented itself for me to make it there today, as I had to visit a client on the west side of town. When I got there, I couldn’t believe just how confusing the layout was there. What a joke. I found my way to get a number and awaited the computer voice to prompt to visit the counter. Then the most emotionless human being I’ve ever dealt with processes my renewal. Now because I had to go to the DMV, there is a $3 counter fee(penalty) in addition to my already pricey plate renewal. Then this joker tells me I could have paid for my sticker at the testing place. He seemed shocked that they didn’t tell me they could do that. He goes on to say, “They’re really getting lazy over there”. Awww, wasn’t that nice story?

It’s amazing that our government runs at all when this the type of stuff us civilians see.

Duane Gay loses battle with cancer

Duane Gay, who is a fairly well known television reporter in Southeast Wisconsin lost his battle with his rare form of Cancer on Tuesday. I heard the news while listening to the morning show on which he used to be a frequent guest. This is very sad news as I enjoyed all his wonderful and hilarious stories he shared on the Bob & Brian show. Fortunately a lot of stories are captured and are part of the Bob & Brian CD collections.

Probably my favorite B&B moment was when Duane shared his story of being an inexperienced cook at a local area truck stop. I was fortunate enough to hear it the day Duane was in the studio telling it and it also made it to that years CD for others to hear.

Last hockey class tonight

Well, that was a fast seven weeks. It was well worth it and I learned a lot. What I do think is weird though is we never really learned anything about game play(such as rules, positions, and stratagies). The focus was strictly on skills. I guess what is needed would be like a level 2 learn to play class where we start applying skills learned in level 1 to actual game-play.

So what’s next? I really don’t know yet. Adult novice leagues are starting in May, but a lot depends on whether or not I can participate. Hopefully I can find out more tonight on days and times of the leagues. Otherwise, I’ll just start joining in on some pick-up games here and there.

Ugh! I got to cut the grass already

Over the last couple of weeks we’ve had some fairly warms days(80′s) and some rain and all of sudden the lawn has come to life. So now, even though it’s going to get below freezing here over the next few days, I will have to cut the grass. I haven’t even dug out the lawn mower yet and got it ready for spring. So like I said. Ugh!
