Some wonderful photographs

I usually keep a pretty good eye on my site stats, and especially the referrers. I always like to know where everyone is coming from. My referrers have been the point of discovery for quite a few sites that I now visit on a regular basis.

Well, last week I discovered a new one. Everydayrenee, appears to be somewhat local geographically to me, although I’m not sure where exactly, but that’s not what would bring me back to that site. It’s the wonderful display of photography on her site. I don’t know if she is a pro, but her photos are just spectacular.

If you like outdoorsy/wildlife photography, be sure to checkout her gallery.

I’m sick of the Beatles

I’m not sure what’s going on but the radio station we listen to at work is only playing Beatles songs today. I like a few of their songs, but I’m not what would be considered a fan.

It’s just getting really annoying. I don’t like this station to begin with, and then they pull this.

I can’t wait to leave today.

And so starts another season

Nascar has one of the shortest off-seasons in any professional sports, probably just a touch under 3 months. This weekend, the 2004 season kicks off with the Bud Shootout. It’s a non points race, but it’s Saturday night, under the lights, and it’s racing.

This season brings a tidal wave of changes, hopefully all the changes make for better results(at least thats the way their intended to work). The whole change to the points system is the big one. Like a lot of long time fans, I’m not thrilled about the change. I have read a lot of views on the points change, both positive and negative, and many valid points were made in favor of it. I’ll give it this season before I completely go off the handle on it.

The other big news is the new leading series primary sponsor. No longer titled, ‘Winston’ cup series, the transition to ‘Nextel’ cup series seems easier than expected. Without thought, I already say Nextel Cup on a regular basis. It’ll be interesting to see how many on-air slip ups there will be amongst drivers and commentators.

Also for the first few races it’s a matter of getting acquainted with all the drivers that are in new rides.

Thats all on the subject for now.

Nice Snow…

We’re having a nice snow storm right now. I love it. As soon as we finish supper(yes we eat supper at 9pm in my house), me and the wife are going to go outside and build snowmen.

We honestly haven’t had enough snowfall do build nice snowmen over the last couple of years, so we’re going to take advantage of all this.

Our newspaper had a nice chart showing our snowfall deficiency over the last couple of years. I’ll add it as an entry later tonight to prove I’m not a liar about the lack of snow over the past couple of years.

Update: Well, snowman making didn’t go so well. The snow just isn’t very packy.

My favorite commercial

I really thought the commercials were mostly lame for the super bowl, but if I had to pick one as a favorite, it would be the one where the referee was getting yelled at.
