Just call me C-Had

In the spirit of Malibu’s Most Wanted, I’m to now be known as ‘C-Had’.

No, not really, but my wife called me that this morning and it really caught me off gaurd and was pretty funny.

All this because we watched that movie last night. Overall it was a pretty annoying movie, but did have some pretty funny scenes.

Also saw Anger Management. That movie was funnier than I expected to be. Jack Nicholson was really ‘on’ in this movie.

Screenshots available of Fedora Core beta

For the record it is now known as Fedora Core, this is beta 2, codenamed Severn.

I got it downloaded and installed without issue, but that’s where the smooth ride came to a screeching halt. I’m not going to get too in depth right now as I’m extremely tired, but I want to say this feels more like an alpha release. Very unstable for me. 5 crashes in under a half hour of testing.

However, through all the hard reboots, I was able to get my screenshots uploaded. Click the one below to be taken to the gallery.

Update: It appears that I’m not alone in my feelings towards this release. The general initial responses seem to be pretty negative. Many saying that the first beta was more stable.

If your interested, I’ll give it to the first person who let’s me know via my contact form.

RC 1 available for Slackware 9.1

As announced in the latest ChangeLog, Slackware 9.1 is in release candidate stages.

I’ve been running slackware-current on a test machine at home now for a couple of weeks and have yet to have any issues.

I’ve been using Swaret to keep it updated and that has been, to the best of my knowledge, working flawlessly also.
